1-How did the band come about?

Back in 1986 Jonny and Pierce met with the same dreams and intentions to form a truly serious rock band. An intensive search for musicians followed. Thanks to a lively Swiss music scene, this process didn't take too long and soon the original Allison formation was born.

Em 1986, Jonny e Pierce se encontraram com os mesmos sonhos e intenções de formar uma banda de rock realmente séria. Seguiu-se uma intensa busca por músicos. Graças a uma animada cena musical suíça, esse processo não demorou muito e logo nasceu a formação original do Allison.

 

2-How long have you been on the road?

In the period from 1987 to 1995 we toured very intensively  (next to recording our first two Albums). Throughout Europe Allison played about 300 to 400 live shows.

2-Há quanto tempo vocês estão na estrada?

No período de 1987 a 1995 fizemos uma turnê muito intensa (além de gravar nossos dois primeiros álbuns). Em toda a Europa Allison fez cerca de 300 a 400 shows ao vivo.

 

3-Are all the members the same since the beginning of the group?

Today’s line-up still features three original members: Janet la Rose, Jonny Stutz and Pierce Baltino. After the band split in 1996 drummer Dan Putelli and Keyboarder Pat Visser moved to Australia. They still live in the area of Sydney.

3-Todos os membros são iguais desde o início do grupo?

A formação de hoje ainda conta com três membros originais: Janet la Rose, Jonny Stutz e Pierce Baltino. Depois que a banda se separou em 1996, o baterista Dan Putelli e o tecladista Pat Visser se mudaram para a Austrália. Eles ainda vivem na área de Sydney.

 

4-Where did they come from?

All of the group’s members are Swiss.

4-De onde vieram?

Todos os membros do grupo são suíços.

 

5-Do you have an embarrassment that happened in a show?

Hard to tell if this is embarrassing 😉 Back in the days we arrived at a show, opened up our equipment bus and been pretty surprised that it was almost empty. Seemed like we forgot our amps, cabinets and part of our instruments. Note: that was before the cellphone era, so we could not just call someone. So we borrowed gear from other bands and made our show happen. Late at night when we got back to our rehearsal room it turned out that we forgot everything in that big elevator, and nothing was missing!

5-Algum constrangimento que aconteceu em um show?

Difícil dizer se isso é constrangedor 😉 Antigamente chegávamos em um show, abríamos nosso ônibus de equipamentos e ficamos bem surpresos que estava quase vazio. Parece que esquecemos nossos amplificadores, gabinetes e parte de nossos instrumentos. Nota: isso foi antes da era do celular, então não podíamos simplesmente ligar para alguém. Então pegamos emprestado equipamentos de outras bandas e fizemos nosso show acontecer. Tarde da noite, quando voltamos para nossa sala de ensaio, descobrimos que esquecemos tudo naquele grande elevador, e nada estava faltando!  

6-What was the most difficult thing you had to face with the band?

That was probably how we dealt with our management and our record labels. Too many people who thought they knew everything. And of course they are the only ones who knew the key to success 😉

6-Qual foi a coisa mais difícil que você teve que enfrentar com a banda?

Provavelmente foi assim que lidamos com nosso empresário e nossas gravadoras. Muitas pessoas que pensavam que sabiam tudo. E claro que são os únicos que sabiam a chave do sucesso 😉

 

7-What was the most outstanding show?

That was our opening show for Thunder, Van Halen and Bon Jovi here in Switzerland in front of 55,000 people. Simply unforgettable and epic as you can imagine.

7-Qual foi o show mais marcante?

Esse foi o nosso show de abertura para Thunder, Van Halen e Bon Jovi aqui na Suíça na frente de 55.000 pessoas. Simplesmente inesquecível e épico como você pode imaginar.

 

8-Which band song do you like the most?

We all listen to different music and have a wide range of influences. But to name a few: ACDC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Heart, Bon Jovi, George Lynch, Def Leppard, Brad Paisley, Pink Floyd, etc...

8-Quais são as músicas que a Banda gosta?

Todos nós ouvimos músicas diferentes e temos uma ampla gama de influências. Mas para citar alguns: ACDC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Heart, Bon Jovi, George Lynch, Def Leppard, Brad Paisley, Pink Floyd, etc...

 

9-How many shows do you do per month?

After the pandemic, things are slowly picking up again. At the moment we play about one concert a month.

9-Quantos shows você faz por mês?

Depois da pandemia, as coisas estão voltando aos poucos. No momento tocamos cerca de um show por mês.

 

10-Who is your inspiration for the band?

There is no specific inspiration. Like so many things in life, the inspiration for our music is life itselfand everyday experiences.

10-Quais são as inspirações da banda?

Não há inspiração específica. Como tantas coisas na vida, a inspiração para nossa música é a própria vida e as experiências cotidianas.

 

11-Which singers or bands do you like the most?

All those who today still sing and play really themselves. There is no special favourite.

11-Quais cantores ou bandas você mais gosta?

Todos aqueles que hoje ainda cantam e tocam realmente eles mesmos. Não há favorito especial.

 

12-How did the family react to knowing that they chose to be in the music business?

When the music got louder and the hair got longer, the enthusiasm was of course limited. But when success slowly came, we reached the charts, got airplay and appeared in TV shows a certain pride set in. But that wasn’t really important to us – we did what we had to do.

12-Como a família reagiu ao saber que escolheu estar no ramo da música?

Quando a música ficou mais alta e o cabelo ficou mais comprido, o entusiasmo foi obviamente limitado. Mas quando o sucesso veio lentamente, alcançamos as paradas, tocamos no ar e aparecemos em programas de TV com certo orgulho. Mas isso não era realmente importante para nós – fizemos o que tínhamos que fazer.

 

13-The songs are the members who compose?

The songs are written in their raw form mainly by Pierce. We then grind and file it together until we are satisfied with what we hear.

13-As músicas são os membros que compõem?

As músicas são escritas em sua forma bruta principalmente por Pierce. Em seguida, trituramos e arquivamos até ficarmos satisfeitos com o que ouvimos.

 

14-Which song do people ask for the most?

From our older songs this is "I've been waiting". This is the song we made in 1994 in a similar form for the Soccer World Cup for the first German television. From the new album this is probably "The river".

Das nossas músicas mais antigas, esta é "I've been waiting". Esta é a música que fizemos em 1994 de forma semelhante para a Copa do Mundo de Futebol para a primeira televisão alemã. Do novo álbum este é provavelmente "The river".

16-Funny fact that happened with the band?

This is the fact that we have reunited. We never planned that and never thought it could happen.

16-Fato engraçado que aconteceu com a banda?

Este é o fato de que nos reunimos. Nós nunca planejamos isso e nunca pensamos que poderia acontecer.

17-Which dream do you still intend to fulfill in relation to the band?

We all hope that we can keep rocking for as long as possible. Touring, writing new songs and having fun. That's what it's all about.

17-Qual sonho que vocês ainda pretende realizar em relação à banda?

Todos nós esperamos que possamos continuar balançando pelo maior tempo possível. Fazendo turnês, escrevendo novas músicas e se divertindo. É disso que se trata.

18-Who gives more work when getting ready for shows?

This is Janet. She always prepares very carefully for the respective location and event in terms of what she tells the audience. We men pretty much always do the same thing😉

Essa é Janete. Ela sempre se prepara com muito cuidado para o respectivo local e evento em termos do que diz ao público. Nós, homens, quase sempre fazemos a mesma coisa😉
